|
The sequelae of extracorporial circulation during open heart surgery are hemolysis, air embolism, pulmonary failure, etc.
Hemolysis which may result in acute tubular damage of kidney if it is severe, occured by mechanical trauma of red blood cell membrane with pump or sucker.
The present study was undertaken to observe the effect of hydrocortisone for hemolysis during extracorporial circulation.
The result are as follows;
1) A significant hemolysis occured 60 minutes after extracorporial circulation compare to control value in both control ana hydrocortisone group.
2) A significant hemolrsis occured 90 minutes after compare to 30 minutes value in control group.
3) A significant hemolrsis occured 120 minutes after compare to 30 minutes value in hydrocortisone group.
